I am writing to thank you for co-sponsoring H.R. 2916, the Genetically Engineered Food Right to Know Act of 2003.

As you may be aware, ABC News reported in July 2003 that 92 percent of Americans want genetically engineered foods to be labeled. ABC News says that "such near-unanimity in public opinion is rare."

I will remember your decision to co-sponsor the labeling legislation when it comes time to vote in November 2004.

I hope you will also work on convincing some of your colleagues in the House of Representatives to co-sponsor H.R. 2916 - just remind them that almost all Americans are in favor of labeling genetically engineered foods!
